Since its establishment in El Dorado in 1927, Shackleford, Phillips & Ratcliff, P.A. has been a well-respected name in South Arkansas. The firm — much like El Dorado itself — is steeped in a thriving history. The firm was founded by John M. Shackleford. His son, John M. Shackleford, Jr. — "Marshall" — joined his father in the practice of law in 1946. Marshall became Of Counsel in 1998 and remained in that capacity until he passed away in 2011. Dennis L. Shackleford joined his father and brother in the firm in 1958 and he currently serves as Of Counsel to the firm, having retired from active practice. In 1969, Norwood Phillips joined the firm and practiced there until his death in 2008.
